Day 24
Epilogue→
Ha Noi → Tokyo → Houston → Philadelphia

Homeward
Arrival in Tokyo was early in the morning. I tried to rent one of the temporary by-the-hour rooms in the terminal so we could nap and shower, but they were fully booked.
We found a place where I would get a bowl of Ramen noodles for breakfast – delicious. During the walk the restaurant, Lauren spotted a poster that had photos of boxes from around the world. One was from a chicken farm in Lockhart, Texas, a town that we frequent often when in Texas. I took at photo and posted it to the Lockhart Discussion Group on Facebook, prompting a flurry of responses.
We nothing to do and nowhere to go for 8 more hours, we found a quiet, unoccupied gate and stretched out to nap as best we could. We napped, sat, ate sushi, and charged our phones.

I am so proud of my courageous daughter. She is amazing. Maybe a little nuts to sign up for this stuff with her old man. But amazing.
Our respective departing flights were 10 minutes apart. Mine was to Houston, Texas, with a connection to Philadelphia. Lauren’s was direct to Denver, her home.
We hugged tightly and said our tearful goodbyes. We had been inseparable for 3 weeks facing grand adventures, adversities, countless challenges, and never-ending unknowns, with a few joys and terrors sprinkled on top. Yet we were never cross with one another, always mutually supportive, and respected each other’s courage throughout.
